A large scale public sector organisation in the Greater Manchester area are currently recruiting for a Test Manager.
The test manager needs to be able to set up the testing team foundations from scratch, manage a small team and a budget.
The testing at the organisation will be to test systems provided by a third party, so there will be a lot of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and working with staff across the business. There will also be some software development testing involved.
You will have;
Experience planning, managing, and delivering testing and quality assurance for major programmes of work, involving multiple systems and technologies from different vendors in a mid to large size organisation.
Demonstrable experience of leading testing activities, coordinating test planning and execution activities across multiple projects in IT, including defining automation test frameworks and knowledge of testing tools.
Well-developed experience of communicating the technical approach of system testing to stakeholders with varying degrees of technical understanding.
Excellent planning and organisation skills with a strong background in both the Waterfall methodology and Agile methodologies.
Extensive experience of using technical knowledge to turn a high-level solution design into a test approach.
Practical knowledge of best practices, frameworks and testing methodologies.
Able to develop and manage testing performance metrics to track, communicate and support the progress of testing.
Exposure to complex IT environments and interdependencies, including ERP, SaaS solutions, Cloud, Virtualisation and Data migration etc.
Excellent planning and organisation skills with a strong background in both the Waterfall methodology and Agile methodologies.
Significant experience of holding 3rd parties account to contractual commitments.
Significant experience of managing large teams through the line management of managers and experience of managing multi-disciplined teams and matrix management.
Experience of management across the full budget lifecycle, forecasting, agreeing, managing and the treatment of variances.
