£12.82 per hour
Responsible to: Team Manager
Hours: Monday to Friday 9 to 5 subject to change / Hybrid but must do two days in office
Key Responsibilities:
* Responsible for the proactive running and day to day supervision of the service ensuring that women and children receive the relevant support and that all health and safety matters are fully addressed.
* Manage high profile/intensive case work. In addition, the Senior IDVA will screen and allocate all non-crime referrals to the BAMER worker and Safety Planner.
* To ensure that Safe Lives DASH Risk assessment, Individual Safety & Support Plan, Severity of Abuse Grid are in place and reviewed 6 weekly to support the client.
* Help with access to legal advice, housing needs, tenancy support, support of children and access to learning or employment.
* Ensure that identified support targets have been met in conjunction with other agencies delivering care and support services to clients and ensure outcome focused support planning. Ensure a seamless service delivery by working closely with other support providers to have a joined-up approach to addressing support needs.
* To provide practical and emotional support to women and men applying the principles of effective casework when supporting survivors of domestic and sexual violence at the highest risk and their children and to advocate for survivors to ensure their needs are met.
* Assessment of the impact of domestic violence and risks posed to any children living with the Service User, with appropriate follow-up action including referrals to specialist children’s services and Local Authority Children’s Social Care Services
* To keep clear, accessible records in line with our client Confidentiality and Data Protection procedure. To ensure records of contacts with service users clearly demonstrate the nature of contact, aims and objectives.
* To ensure that all referred services users agree and sign up to support agreements
Key Skills:
* Safe lives IDVA qualified or willingness to complete
* Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System
* Ability to manage staff as well as provide case working support to clients.
* Awareness of risks associated with domestic violence in a working environment.
* Knowledge of legal, statutory, regulatory, and good practice requirements applicable to the provision of supported housing.
* Working knowledge of the relevant housing law and welfare benefits that apply to women and children using the service.
* Provide an out of hours on call service as part of our client On-call rota
* Willingness to mentor pool workers, students and trainees as required across the organisation.
* Ability to manage the service (including supervising staff) in the absence of the Team Manager
* Previous experience of using computer-based systems to accurately record work and client details
* Highly developed interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills and ability to manage complex tasks in clearly defined time frames
* Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately.
